Danny Minshall is frequent goer to events from the 4333 house shows as well as the Rowan Alt Shows and I sat down with him to talk about his experiences.
Why do you like going to these events?
I am obsessed with music to the point where I’m looking for a concert fix anywhere I can get it. So, as soon as I found out about the Rowan House shows on campus, I knew I couldn’t miss out. I gather up some friends to discover some good music by some people around my age. It’s almost inspiring to me as a drummer.
Who do you go to these events with?
I go with my roommate because I know we have a similar enough taste in music that I know that we can have a good time.
What kinda things you like wearing to these events?
It’s usually too hot with the basements to dress like a “saucc daddi” so I usually throw on my finest pair of “hot boi” pants and whatever band shit I feel like fits the mood that night. And, I in there thinking is a good conversation starter.
Why do you think these events are important?
I think they’re important to raise awareness for young musicians. There’s a lot of talent that needs to be witnessed, and I like watching these bands before they make it big. Music is a very important thing in life and it should be experienced as much as anyone can and it’s one of my favorite things to do.
Do you have any aspirations of drumming in a show like this?
Yeah. I would absolutely love to but these things take time. I’m in a band that’s on the blueprint stage but we’re looking to take it more seriously and play in these shows to join the fun from the other side of the night.
