Of course, if you want to find live music at Rowan University brought to you exclusively by students and faculty there’s no other place like The Rowan Music Department.
The Rowan Music Department puts out multiple concerts a week and a lot of people show up to them. Usually, the events are focused on genres that you wouldn’t usually hear on house shows or the radio. But, they are good to break the monotony and experience music on a different standard.
I went to a jazz concert the other night and if you’ve ever seen the movie “Whiplash” it was just as exhilarating as the movie. The band was conducted by faculty Denis Deblasio and it celebrated popular classic jazz songs, and, it brought together different ensembles from the new guitar ensemble to the chorus.
The show brought a lot of people to Pfleeger Concert Hall and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
They are free to Rowan Students which is a great alternative to the house shows were, even though they’re not more than a couple of bucks, can get in the way of your finances.
If you want a great experience and you’re a fan of new discoveries checking these concerts might be the perfect place for you.
