Rowan Alt – Emo Night – Photo Gallery

Last Saturday, The Rowan Alternative Club, in collaboration with The Rowan Arts Collective, hosted Emo Night. “An event in which students celebrated Emo culture by singing and covering songs of their favorite punk rock bands.”

This was the first emo event of its type on campus. I showed up a little late but with my all-trustworthy camera, I headed into the scene to take some pictures to show how important events like these are for the students at Rowan.

At the entrance of the event, they charged $5 for admission and there were snacks and sodas on a side table.

All of the performances were done by students of the university that, with all their energy and passion, sung songs that they loved and shared their talents to an audience of peers.

Bands usually vary from different arrangements. Sometimes they are composed of bass, guitar, drums, and, vocals and other times of just a guitar and vocals.

The event was held at The Rowan Art Gallery and one of the nice features of holding an event there is that apart from the music there are also other artistic expressions around that really create a fantastic one-two punch combo.

After seeing two bands that night, and talking to some classmates in the venue, the night closed with karaoke and everyone seemed to have enjoyed a very emo themed night.
